Canadian Country Music Website of the Year
We don’t like to toot our own horn, but our moms told us that if we didn’t post this we wouldn’t be invited for Christmas this year.
So today we would like to share with you all that gordbamford.com was honoured with the Canadian Country Music Website of the Year award this past weekend. A year ago this was a dream, and it came true because of the efforts and support of many people.
Thank you to Gord Bamford and his team for the opportunity – you are a talented singer and an exceptional human being. We appreciate working with someone who cares so much about giving back to community and youth.
The site itself is the product of many people’s efforts: Jade-Ann, Travis, Jordan, Tracey and Rick did a tremendous amount of work to make it successful. We are also grateful to Twila Bamford for telling us to submit a proposal!
Many thanks to Double D Ranch, Erika Tromposch-Newsome (Silpada) and Taryn Stewart for making me presentable at the awards – you all rock!
For a little personal background, Jamie-Rae and I, along with most of the Bella Spur team grew up on farms, ranches or in rural communities. From age 8-18, my job on the farm was to care for the cattle in the barn (show animals, cows with new calves, etc.). I always thought I had the best job because I could listen to CISN on the radio while I cleaned pens and fed cattle. I remember many evenings dancing up and down the barn to all-time greats like George Strait, Michelle Wright, Reba, Ian Tyson and the like. Needless to say, country music has always been a huge part of my life.
During the CCMA Week in Edmonton, FanFest featured Michelle Wright with many other Canadian talents such as Johnny Reid, Jessie Farrell, Doc Walker, Dean Brody, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Gord. I can’t tell you how amazing it was to be a part of the fraternity of country music, and be able to truly appreciate the talent of the singers and their bands.
It’s been a fun, whirlwind CCMA week and we are looking forward to vying for more CCMA’s next year!
